In the middle of Parc del Garraf, after a meandering journey on foot or by car, we find this unique area of peace and reflection. Located in a modernist palace from 1890, once inside the monastery you can visit the museum, carry out activities, workshops, relax or even go on a retreat.

 

The Sakya Tashi Ling Buddhist Monastery is a Buddhist center located in the Garraf Natural Park, near Sitges (Barcelona). It belongs to the Sakya school of Tibetan Buddhism, one of the four main schools of Buddhism in Tibet. It is a notable place for its spiritual, cultural, and educational activities.

 

It is housed in the historic Palau Novella, a modernist mansion built in the 19th century by a wealthy family of merchants from Barcelona. Surrounded by nature in the heart of the Garraf Natural Park, the monastery is set amidst limestone landscapes, Mediterranean forests, and deep tranquility. The fusion of Catalan modernist architecture with Tibetan Buddhist decoration makes this place a truly unique experience.

 

The Palau Novella was abandoned for decades until it was restored by the Buddhist community. The monastery is home to a community of monks and lay practitioners who follow the teachings of Lama Jamyang Tashi Dorje, founder of the center. This community works to keep Tibetan traditions alive while adapting them to Western culture.

 

Sakya Tashi Ling serves as:
