Every autumn, Sitges bedecks itself in festive garb to celebrate one of its most iconic and anxiously-awaited events: the Grape Harvest Festival and Wine Show, a perfect combination or culture, food and winemaking roots.

With over 60 years of history, the Grape Harvest Festival pays tribute to the town's winemaking past, especially connected to Malvasia wine, a native variety and symbol of Sitges’s identity. In addition to the Opening Proclamation and the Pressing of the First Grape Must, it features even more fun and unique traditions, like the Grape Trampler Contest and the weighing of the Heiress and Heir of Sitges in bottles of wine.

The Wine Show is a meeting point throughout the entire week that fills Passeig de la Ribera and La Fragata with a display of wineries from Garraf and the DO Penedès, where you can sample still and sparkling wines, especially Malvasia, in an open site by the sea.
